Swedish Wallander s2 on DVD in the US in May

The second series of the Swedish Wallander with Krister Henriksson will be released on video-on-demand and DVD in the US in the end of May.

Watch Wallander in 13 recently recorded episodes in the pittoresque town of Ystad, Sweden. The episodes are 90 minutes each and will be in Swedish with English subtitles.

The Troubled Man nominated for Best Novel

The very last novel in the Wallander series, The Troubled Man, has been nominated for Best Novel in the 2012 Barry Awards. In 2009 another Swedish writer, Stieg Larsson, won the award for his novel The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Earlier winners of the Barry Award have been George Pelecanos, Dennis Lehane and Denise Mina.

The British Wallander is back in Ystad

Last week Kenneth Branagh and the BBC filmteam visited the south of Sweden to record the screen version of Before the Frost.
BBC is currently shooting episod 7-9 in the Wallander series. The seventh episode, The Dogs of Riga, was shot in August. The ninth one is a completely new story.

The last novel about inspector Kurt Wallander, The Troubled Man, hit #2 of The Sunday Times Hardback Fiction Bestseller list the 3rd April. The Troubled Man was released in the UK in the end of march and has recieved a great reception from the critics as well as the English-speaking public.
