The Troubled Man nominated for Best Novel

The very last novel in the Wallander series, The Troubled Man, has been nominated for Best Novel in the 2012 Barry Awards. In 2009 another Swedish writer, Stieg Larsson, won the award for his novel The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Earlier winners of the Barry Award have been George Pelecanos, Dennis Lehane and Denise Mina.

Swedish Wallander wins British TV award

The new series of Swedish Wallander films starring Krister Henriksson has been awarded The International TV Dagger.

Wallander received the prestigious prize in competition with the American series The Good Wife and Damages during The Specsavers Crime Thriller Awards 2010, broadcast yesterday evening at ITV3. Previous award winners include the much-appraised HBO series The Wire.
